CartCraft automatically maps eBay categories, item specifics, and multi-variant attributes into native Shopify product structures.

1. Automated Category Taxonomy Resolution

When importing eBay listings across international marketplaces (US, UK, DE, FR, ES, IT, AU), CartCraft maps eBay category trees to standardized Shopify product types:

• Hardware & Tools: Maps eBay Germany taxonomy (e.g. Winkelschleifer) to Angle Grinders.
• Electronics: Maps eBay consumer electronics to appropriate Shopify category types.
• Apparel: Maps clothing, shoes, and accessories into structured gender/size taxonomies.

2. Multi-Variant Aspect Extraction

Listings with multiple variations (e.g., Size, Color, Style, Model) are mapped directly into Shopify product variants:

• Option Names: Cleaned and normalized (e.g. Color, Size, Capacity).
• Option Values: Preserved from eBay listing specifics.
• Variant Prices & Inventory: Individual variant pricing and stock quantities are attached to each Shopify SKU.

3. Product Metafields Storage

Every imported product stores reference metadata in Shopify product metafields:

• Namespace: ebay_importer
• Key: ebay_item_id
• Value: 12-digit eBay Item ID

This metafield enables 4-Tier Smart Deduplication and allows live re-syncing of prices and stock.
