This Privacy Policy describes how Cart Channel (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with your installation and use of our Shopify Applications, including Reframely: Pricing Psychology and AI 404 Smart Redirect (collectively, the “Apps”).
We strongly believe in merchant and customer privacy. Our Apps are built to function with minimal access to store data.
- No Customer PII: We do not collect, process, store, or share any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from your store’s customers, such as names, physical addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, or payment details.
- No Tracking or Profiling: We do not track individual store visitors across websites or create customer behavioral profiles. We do not set cookies or similar tracking technologies on store visitors for our own analytics or advertising purposes.
To provide and maintain app functionality, we process minimal technical data provided through Shopify APIs and your store frontend:
A. Reframely: Pricing Psychology
- Product & Pricing Information: The App reads public product prices and variants directly from your store frontend/API to perform real-time mathematical framing (e.g., calculating per-day or per-use breakdown costs).
- App Settings: We store configuration preferences set by you in the app administration portal (e.g., framing ratios, custom text labels, and visual display options).
B. AI 404 Smart Redirect
- Store URL & Broken Paths: When a visitor hits a 404 page on your store, the App receives the requested URL/path (e.g.,
/products/old-item-name) and your store’s active product catalog/navigation paths to generate an accurate redirect recommendation.
- AI Processing: Temporary structural text data (e.g., page paths, category names, or product titles) may be processed using automated algorithms or third-party AI services solely to generate relevant redirect destinations. This process uses no personal customer data.
When you install our Apps via the Shopify App Store, Shopify provides us with basic merchant account information required for administration and account management:
- Store owner name and email address
- Myshopify domain name / custom domain name
We use this information exclusively to:
- Communicate critical operational updates or customer support responses regarding the Apps.
- Manage app billing and subscription status via Shopify’s official Billing API.
4. Data Retention, Location, and Security
- Data Storage: We store only essential non-sensitive configuration data (such as merchant app settings and redirect rules) needed for the Apps to operate.
- Data Location: We store app configuration data on servers located in the United States. If you are located outside this region, your information may be transferred to and processed in this region, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
- Security: We employ industry-standard technical measures to secure app configuration data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls that limit access to production systems to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- App Uninstallation: Upon uninstallation of the App, Shopify sends a webhook alerting us of the deletion. Any stored shop settings or configuration data associated with your store will be permanently deleted or anonymized within 30 days.
5. Third-Party Services
Our Apps may utilize trusted infrastructure and cloud providers (e.g., hosting servers, AI API endpoints) to deliver core capabilities. These third-party services process non-PII technical request data strictly under obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
We do not sell or rent any information to third parties.
6. Your Rights Under Privacy Laws (GDPR / CCPA / CPRA)
Because we do not collect customer PII or track consumers, we generally do not hold data that is subject to California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), or General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) access or deletion requests for store visitors.
